VABC's fifth annual fundraising event, Sounding Off For A Cure, was held on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at The Hammerstein in New York City. Funds raised from the event will go toward research to find a cure for brain cancer.

The event honored Henry S. Friedman, MD (Co -Executive Director of the Brain Tumor Center and Neuro-Oncologist at Duke University Medical Center) with the Gary Lichtenstein Humanitarian Award ; Eric Lichtenstein (Managing Director, Listed Derivatives Group at Knight Capital Group) with the 2010 Voices Award; and the Roth Family (Founders, "Have a Chance") with the 2010 Vision of Hope Award. VABC presented the 2010 Courage Awards to these individuals who have bravely battled brain tumors: Todd Allan, Henry Arnberg, Robert Bernstein, Rochelle Guttman, Susan Lemkuil, Jon B. Kushner, Freddy Lugo, and Patricia Munjack. Awards were presented by Michael Burkhardt, VABC Board Member and brain cancer survivor.
The event featured exciting live and silent auctions and live music by: Bernie Williams (former New York Yankee), Chieli Minucci & Special EFX, Richie Cannata (Billy Joel's saxaphonist), Jeffrey Soffer (13 year old singer/songwriter sensation) and Cold Flavor Repair.
